This Beck Arnley 103-3069 Steering Rack Boot Kits fit my 2007 Toyota Sienna like a glove and it saved me $450 (Toyota Dealership quoted me $450/for one boot).

I watched a video on "How to replace the tie rod boot without alignment" on Youtube using the the slipping over the tie rod end with a greasy zip lock bag method. It is a little tough to slip the small end over the tie rod but, with a little push and shove, it works. This boot made of a thick pliable rubber so it stretch without tearing on either this new inner tie rod boot or the outer tie rod boot.

They only come with the big clam and that provided claim is a little hard to use but I manage to get it tight enough (no zip tie ~ I tried pulling it out and it appears to stay put so far so good, only time will tell). I used two zip ties for the smaller end.

I tested it by driving around, make turns, and turn in a circle, and so far so good.

Five stars!!!!

I have no idea what the wire with the two circles on the end is for - except maybe pulling on the retaining strap. I saved my outer clamp and reused. To make sure your alignment is good. Use a popsicle stick side and some paint. Paint a thin line from TieRod End to Locking nut (on two of the top hex sides - and then down to the threads on the inner tie rod. Loosen the outer tie rod end - be sure your lock nut and inner tie rod end stay aligned with your marks. Remove the outer tie rod end completely. Use a caliper to measure the distance from inner tie rod end to your locking nut. Measure twice - LOCK your calipers in at the measurement - use the lock down screw. Remove your old boot and remove the locking nut from the inner tie rod end. Install the new boot. Install your inner and your outer clamp on the new boot.
Install your lock nut run it all the way in until you reach your measured position from earlier and align the marks you made on the inner shaft and the locking nut. Then run your outer tie rod in all the way to the locking nut align marks as you tighten. Bam.. BooYa.. you should have a new boot and an alignment as good as it was before you started.

First time to try it, you cannot beat the price. took two hours. Used pitman arm puller to remove tie rod (not a easy fit, but still easy enough) for the first time. Use grease over plastic bag method per YouTube, but used a large flat head screw driver (took a few minutes) to help passing through, this is for a 2010 Toyota Sienna, passenger side (common problem per YouTube, this vehicle had nothing but troubles, water pump failure at 39 K, transmission failure at 60K, now power steering failure per dealer at 85k, estimated cost of replacement: 1.2K quoted, no fluid drop to the garage floor, no need to add power steering fluid yet, checked by finger, found out the boot is broken, no wonder KIA minivan ranked #1 now per Consumer Report), cut the inside metal tie and remove the outside clamp (damaged it). slide the new boot on, double check from the front of the vehicle (underneath) to make sure it is in place. Add some grease at the joint of inner tie rod per You Tube.
Tried to use the metal tie from the order, hard to tighten, decided to use zip tie on both ends, will check after driving for a while to make sure it stays, small space, hard to tighten it.
Replace tie rod to the steering knuckle, tighten to 36 ft/lbs (17 mm socket), use a new cotter pin.
First time doer, I am very satisfied and exhausted (sweated 3 lbs of fluid off). Also changed the motor oil/filter since the car is jacked up and maintenance light is on. The oil pan has been seeping oil for years, dealer suggested to replace upper oil pan gasket for over 4K, not a chance, added Bar''s motor oil leak stopper again today 11 oz. Keep my finger crossed. Total time 3 hour, including clean up. and put everything away. Hope this will help someone who is dare to try it for the first time. It is doable.

I found my rack and pinion boot torn so I found this replacement boot. I looked up the method of changing the boot without disturbing the toe-in adjustment and figured it out. The Youtube video to look for, is the one that the service tech is using what looks like a part of a funnel to fit over the tie-rod end bolt, lubricate the funnel and all metal parts, after cleaning them of course, then slide the boot on the shaft. It takes some strength and patients, but it''s not hard to do. Just take your time and let the boot expand over the bolt end. I also wrapped electrical tape over all of the metal parts and lubed it up with silicone lube and the boot slid on nicely. I didn''t use the clamps that came with the kit, but bought some radiator clamps of the proper size, and installed them without a hitch. The hardest part was getting the tie rod end bolt to break loose from the steering arm. I reversed the nut to protect the bolt end and gave it a few whacks with a hammer. If I had to do it again, I''d buy another nut to use. It got damaged a little, but still went on OK. So far working well. Definitely better than paying a mechanic $200-300 to have it done with an alignment needed.

Boot fits my 2004 Camry, but the clamps provided are weird and without instructions. Also, I tried the method in a couple of youtube videos that shows the boot being stretched over the tie rod end with a plastic bag cover and lots of grease. It didn''t work for me even when I tried to soften the rubber with a heat gun. In the end, I painted a mark on the tie rod and the locknut and carefully counted the number of turns that it took to remove the tie rod without moving the lock nut. After putting the boot on, I reinstalled the tie rod and locked it exactly as it had come off and reconnected it. No problem. As for the clamps, I threw them away. I used a very sturdy, thick snap tie to clamp the large end of the boot and re-used the spring clamp that was previously on the small end. You will need the tool to separate the tie rod end from the Pittman arm which you can borrow from an auto supply or buy for a few bucks at Harbor. Not a difficult job.

Size matched well. Two ways to install. Loosen tie rod and unscrew which will require an expensive alignment. Or work it over the tie rod end. I chose the latter and it took me five hours. No matter what the videos show you will need a screwdriver and a lot of patience to get it over the tie rod end. I have a 2005 Camry.

I got frustrated and was going to remove the tie rod end, but the nut was frozen and I would have needed a torch to unscrew it. So I went back to forcing it over the plastic bag covered tie rod and until it went on. Back breaker.

Much of the grease will be forced out of the tie rod boot, but you can put it back in with a needle attachment for your grease gun slipped under the boot (squeeze it to open it up a little) to fill it.

Throw away the clamps it comes with and use worm clamps (thinner ones for the small end). Anyway it is on and works well.

The original boots are a hard or stiff plastic type bellows. The original were completely hole ridden. These replacement bellows are really good rubber and look like they will last a long time. The large metal clamp is very easy, just pull tight and fold it back and then crimp the 2 little tabs over the tail end. I used a pliers to push them over and it worked fine. Like others, I reused the old small spring clamp - and it was perfect. Mine did not come with the twisty tie, but I did not need it. I did remove the tie rod first, but it all went back together just fine.

Nice part for the money. I too, installed without removing the outer tie rod. It''s not easy, but can be done, you need some strength. Plastic bag, lots of grease and the KEY is a hair dryer to heat up the small end of the boot. Once you slide the boot as far as it can go to the tie rod end/bolt - heat it with a hair dryer for several minutes and it will slide over. Depending on how much room you have, the larger clamp is kind of a S.O.B. as well. I got it tight, but also used a nylon zip tie for extra peace of mind.

After purchasing a poor quality Moog boot for $90 (!!) at Lordco, and finding that it was the wrong fit, I took a chance on this one, not knowing whether it would fit my Chevy Uplander 2007. It fits a little snug around the knuckle but the overall build quality of this part is far superior. I like that it’s made of a flexible rubber, as opposed to the more rigid, plastic-like material used for the Moog. Also, this part comes with a stronger and more durable metal clamp fitting, which I see outperforming zip ties that comes with other brands. Very pleased overall! Thank you!
